The KTM 1190 Adventure R is only equipped with what it needs to be a better off-road machine, and that’s exactly what it is. Our test bikes were shod not with the stock rubber, but rather with street-legal knobbies and in the mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in damp and muddy conditions, the R was unstoppable.

Recently, I found a 2014 1190 Adventure with 8k miles for $9k. Small Tusk panniers with quick release, unknown slip on, and that's about it for extras. Dealership policy is no test rides, but when you purchase the bike, you get 24 hours to ride it and return it if you don't like it.

The only issue I’ve had in 25, 000 miles with my 2015 1190R is blown fork seals, but to be expected on an adventure bike and certainly my pork butt exacerbated this situation. Have since corrected the situation with the suspension, still working on reducing the pork. BCkjH.
